Are you walking consistently with your shield up and sword high?
I’ve spent the last ten weeks crafting, teaching, and editing, His Warrior Sisters: Owning Your Christ Identity alongside an incredibly diverse group of women. We’re taking a break until the spring when I teach the second part of the study, Living Legacy Worthy: Boots on the Ground.
This last class shared testimonies of how God has changed their walk over the said, ten-weeks. It’s amazing to witness the intimacy of God at work in individual lives and in such specific ways.
One common bound declared by each and every woman is the recognition of God as her Shield. Once we own our Christ-Identity, we will not be denied the Power Source and all He supplies in our daily life. Not all of the women truly “got” that in the beginning.
Though we may know in our mind certain things about God, it’s not until we own them in our heart that we truly walk it out in our life.
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.”
Psalm 3:3 NIV
Memorizing scripture is a means to recall verses. Meditating on scripture takes it to a deeper level. Separating scripture into daily applications brings it into today’s world.
Take a look at Psalm 3:3 and ask yourself three questions:
- What truth (God’s promise, a statement about God, a non-negotionable fact) do I see here?
- How is this truth applicable to the world around me today. (Scripture is alive and pertinent to life right now, whether from the New or Old Testaments.)
- How can I use this truth in my life this week?
As a parent, you can discuss scripture at the dinner table or in the morning over breakfast. Post the scripture verse of the week on mirrors, windows, walls, refrigerators… anywhere that’s in plain site throughout the house.
As an individual, you can post I in site at work, in your car, on your mirrors as well. Choose boldness as you discover more about God’s Truth and how it applies specifically to you every day.
Using this process with scripture on a consistent basis will bring God’s word to life for you and your family.
Thank you for taking time to stop by, may God bless you in ways you’ve not imagined.
Hugs and Blessings… Linda
